Father Lambert Tournament

Alumni and Friends of St. Philomena School,

The 48th Annual Father Lambert Basketball Tournament is scheduled to commence next month on Saturday February 18 and finish the following weekend (2/26). It will feature 8 boys and 8 girls CYO teams from our region (25), out of region and the city.
It is what we believe to one of the most historic grade-school tournaments in the area and many players that have participated in the tournament have gone on to play at the next level and beyond.

Last year after a Mass honoring the St. Philomena undefeated team of ’68, two team members came to me and said that they wanted to name the Fr. Lambert MVP awards(boy and girl) after their mentor and coach, Tommy Gallagher. To that end they funded a scholarship that goes to recipients for each of their four years of secondary education. Last year was the inaugural year of the Tommy Gallagher MVP Award .

Please consider this an invitation to come and watch games in the Father lambert Tournament this year. The Tournament proceeds go toward CYO programs for St. Cyril (now our sister Parish), as well as Youth programs for St. Philomena/St. Cyril.

We need your help! We are also looking for adult and high school volunteers to help out with the tournament. Also, If you would like to donate items to be raffled off at halftime of games or would prefer to donate directly to the Tommy Gallagher MVP Award you may do so by sending contributions to:
